The Nevzorov probe can be set to three different temperature settings (70.0 C, 90.0 C, and 110.0 C). The higher the temperature the probe is set to, the higher water content the probe can measure before the probe becomes saturated. The 70.0 C setting is used for ground testing.

Each sensor head for the Nevzorov probe comes pre-calibrated with a calibration data sheet showing the results of the calibration. The physical dimensions of the total water content (TWC) sensor and the liquid water content (LWC) sensor are given along with calibrated resistances across the sensors (R_col and R_ref) and the ratios of R_col and R_ref over the resistances across part of the electronics, N_col and N_ref, respectively. N_col and N_ref are the values set on the control box.

The control box has input for only three digits, so the calibrated values for N_col and N_ref must be rounded to three significant digits. For example, if the calibrated value of N_col is 2.359, then the value set on the control box would be 236. There are values of N_col and N_ref for both the LWC and TWC sensors.
