Visit Tasks

  • The profiler computer was not connected to network. Changed out cable between the profiler computer and the router.
  • The USB hub was not working on the profiler computer. There was no DC power out of the power converter for the hub. Removed the hub and connected one USB drive directly to the computer.
  • Added a USB hard drive on the Glacial Ridge computer.
  • The video camera system was checked out. A new video cable was tested but the camera had no images, only network connection. Removed the camera and took back to lab.
  • Clean, deployed and tested rain gauge.
  • Turn off heaters after marking settings.
  • Phone company was there to upgrade system with new cable. The static IP address was changed from 64.235.73.178 to 64.235.94.76. Changed the /var/www/html/glacialridge.atmos/images/profiler/get_bv_und_last_day_image.bash script on Web server to use the new IP address. Asked Derek to change access for the new IP.
  • Clean up cables on the Glacialridge2 computer and connect it to UPS. Ran network cable through UPS.
  • Measured profiler pad size. The cermet pad is 12 ft (east-west) and 15 ft (north-south). The bottom of the profiler is 8×8 ft.

Tasks Before Next Trip

  • Weather station data on website is currently not working because the Web page for the weather data has only a demo license on Glacialridge2. Need to get new license or get working on Glacialridge1.
  • Bring out 9 V battery for volt meter.
  • The Raw profiler image is for the wrong day. Seems to be an issue with the software scripts.
  • Talk with Dave Bennett at the Fish and Wildlife services to see what they are planning for Glacial Ridge and see if they would be putting one of there instrument monitoring stations at the site.
