Problems and Solutions

Wing Pitot Problems and Solutions:

December 18, 2010 Removed pitot tube for leak checks. Found one ceramic anti-ice connector wire pulled out of socket. Took connector apart and contacts looked blackened, burned. Appears the solder used may have been contaminated, or poor quality solder. Ordered new connector from Cessna through the parts room. Part number is AN3115-1 or CM300. Soldered new contacts to wires and reassembled connector. Performed a leak check on entire Pitot & tubing. All passed test. Reinstalled access panel on bottom of left pylon.
