===== ATSC: 240 Meteorological Instrumentation - Pitot Lab ===== ------------------------------------------------------------------ {{ :atmos:atsc:fans.jpg?600 |}} ------------------------------- ==== Background ==== True airspeed (TAS) is the speed that an aircraft travels (or in this case the air driven through the tube) relative to the mass of air in which it is flying. It is the calibrated airspeed corrected for compressibility effects and density effects. Using a differential pressure sensor in combination with a pitot tube, we can calculate the TAS in a wind tunnel. ==== Calculation ==== In order to calculate TAS... ==== Experiment Set Up ==== {{ :atmos:atsc:pitot_tube.jpg?600 |}} {{:atmos:atsc:arduino.jpg?440|}} {{ :atmos:atsc:sensor.jpg?440|}} Wiring & Assembly: Program: {{ :atmos:atsc:3fantest.png?500 |}} //__**Don't plug all three fans into outlets on same circuit breaker!**__// ==== TAS Program ==== {{ :atmos:atsc:ams5915_program_guide.pdf | Program Guide PDF}} {{ :atmos:atsc:ams5915_0050_d.zip | Zip Folder Containing Program}} -------------------------------------------- [[http://wiki.atmos.und.edu/doku.php?id=atmos:home|Homepage]]
